Appearance: Ed is a tall man, standing 6'3" and muscular. Short hair, goatee. He looks intimidating which he can be should the moment need, but he has a soft kind side.
Info: As passionate about his work as he is his personal life, Detective Green tries to make the best of every day and every case. He's a bit compulsive, which is why his relationship with grounded, veteran Detective Briscoe comes in handy. He's always set and determined to try his best to make sure there is enough to lock up a suspect. He becomes frustrated when they end up walking and at times can try and place the blame on himself.
Green joined Manhattan's 27th Precinct in 1999 after being transferred from the Narcotics Bureau. He was partnered with Lennie Briscoe.His tenure in the precinct got off to a bumpy start; his willingness to bend legal rules to arrest a suspect did little to endear him to his superiors, and he initially thought Briscoe was too old to investigate crimes effectively. After about a year in the precinct, however, he came to trust and respect his partner, as well as tone down his unorthodox investigative methods.
Green represents the L&O franchise's return to the wild, "Dirty Harry" type of character once popularized by Mike Logan. Unlike the Logan character, however, almost nothing has been revealed about Green's personal life, or how his job affects it. Among the few personal touches made to the character is that he has an affinity for punk rock, particularly Elvis Costello, and gambling, making trips to Atlantic City often enough that Briscoe teased him about it. Green is often a surprising source of varied information in investigations. He speaks Spanish, is always up to date on popular culture, and appears to have a strong classical education. He often uses bad grammar when talking to suspects or other people who he disrespects.
Green found himself more touched than he expected by Briscoe's retirement in 2004, so much so that it took him a while to warm up to new partner, Joe Fontana.
In 2005, Green was shot in the line of duty, and was hospitalized for a few weeks. During his absence, he was replaced by Det. Nick Falco.
A private man to most, he usually keeps quiet about his personal life. Trying to keep his life as a detective seperate from his life outside that. He's had a few relationships but the stress on the other person with worry on whether Ed would come off the job alive would be too much and drive them away.
Ed is currently dating a drag queen in NYC named, Cha-Cha de los Santos Perez Cueva. Though not many would know that with the way he tries to keep the lines unblurred between work and home.
